Exercise bikes are also called static bikes, or studio cycles, but regardless of their name, they are possibly the best home exercise equipment. We are all advised to exercise for half an hour each day to stay fit, as well as make sure, that we enjoy a well balanced diet, so an exercise bike is a sensible investment.

There are two fundamental styles of exercise bikes – upright (pedals below the rider) or recumbent (pedals in front of the rider). If seat comfort is important then recumbent bikes are the most suitable with the bonus of good back support.

Many trainers would say that exercise bikes are without equal for burning calories, increasing your pulse, and providing you with a great aerobic session. They are a fundamental piece of gym equipment due to the low-impact, high-gain cardiovascular exercise they provide, and perhaps it doesn’t really need to be written down, they are stationery and don’t need much room. You simply place your exercise bike next to your TV, window, children or anywhere that is convenient, and peddle away to build hamstring and thigh muscles and flexibility, while watching your favourite TV show, or looking after the children as they play. With an upright bike, by keeping your back straight and your abdomen tight, you can build all of these muscles at the same time.

Exercise bikes are used throughout the health and fitness business as a form of fairly safe exercise because, unlike treadmills, exercise bicycles limit the shock to leg and knee joints. They are also fairly straightforward to use with no difficult programming necessary, although it is available on some cycles. But nearly all of us learned to ride a bike when we were younger so nothing could be easier than getting on and peddling. And what’s more you’re content you’re not going to come off, however lazily you ride. And you don’t have to concern yourself with traffic either! Many people also ride exercise bikes for warming up and down, before and after their workout routine.

If you weren’t certain before, perhaps you now are persuaded that exercise bikes are beneficial exercise machines for all levels of keen health and fitness fans, including novices. They are straightforward to ride with variable resistance, so your cardio-vascular system and muscles can be worked as much or little as you want. exercise bikes are also very reliable and require only minimum maintenance. You can burn an average of 550 calories per hour with an exercise bike so you may want to buy one, if you want to exercise in one of the simplest ways possible.
